Camp Mindy

Minden Medical Center’s Perinatal team now offers Camp Mindy to expecting moms and their family. “When patients come in for Labor that is generally not the ideal time to go over information and paperwork, so we’ve started Camp Mindy to help with this process,” says Adriane Delaney, RN, Labor & Delivery Nurse Manager at MMC. “Camp Mindy is so beneficial to our patients because it touches on all important information before the patient comes to the hospital in Labor, and in pain. All together it takes about an hour off their admission time.”

Camp Mindy is Minden Medical Center’s hospital orientation designed with several benefits in mind:

Hospital Orientation & Tour including Tour of Labor Unit.
Reminder & Checklist of What to Bring to the Hospital.
What to expect from your MMC Perinatal team.
Explanation of equipment and options during labor.
Pre-Registration into Electronic Medical Record system.
Visitor policy clarification so patients can tell their friends and family what to expect.
Nursery education which includes information sheets for the patient to take home as well as what to expect with your new baby.
Benefits of being a GIFT certified hospital which promotes breastfeeding.
All Consents are signed at this time.
Opportunity to sign up for Lamaze & Breastfeeding classes.

Camp Mindy is offered every Monday @ 10am in the Labor & Delivery unit of MMC (4th floor). You may call 318-371-5660 to sign up.
